Brian Sallee

Brian Sallee is the President of BBS Narcotics Enforcement Training & Consulting, LLC. BBS Narcotics Enforcement Training & Consulting, LLC provides training and consulting for Law Enforcement and Expert Witnesses for both civil and criminal cases.

Brian was a police officer for over 40 years. He started his career with the New Mexico State University Police Department and worked uniformed patrol for NMSU for over 3 years. Brian then joined the Albuquerque Police Department, where he worked for almost 23 years before retiring in November of 2006. In March of 2007, Brian returned to work for the Albuquerque Police Department as a part-time sworn detective. He was assigned to the Meth Unit. Brian retired again in November 2020.

During his career, Brian spent over 31 years working in Narcotic Units and worked many aspects of Narcotics Investigations, such as undercover, surveillance, search warrants, handling informants, case agent of reversal operations, buy/bust operations and clandestine labs. Brian is a certified clan lab investigator and site safety officer. He also worked uniform patrol and general investigations.

Brian earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Police Science in 1980 and then earned a Masters degree in Criminal Justice which he obtained in 2009. Both degrees are from New Mexico State University.

Brian is co-author of the book Narcotics Investigations: Working and Surviving. He is also one of the co-authors of the book The Handbook of Methamphetamines.

Brian instructs narcotic classes for the Albuquerque Police Department and several national organizations, including the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training (MCTFT), Center for Advanced Technical Law Enforcement Training (CATLET) and Associates in Advance Narcotics Training (AIANT). Brian has also been a guest instructor at several universities; including New Mexico State University, University of New Mexico, University of Phoenix and other universities.

Brian teaches a wide range of topics, primarily dealing with narcotics. Some of the classes he teaches are Narcotic Investigations, Undercover operations, Clandestine Lab Certification, Meth Lab Investigations and Awareness, Courtroom Testimony.

Brian has taught in 49 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Brian has trained thousands of police officers from all 50 states and numerous countries around the world.
