Courtroom TestimonyThe final step in a criminal investigation is to present the case in court. This is the stage of investigation often overlook by police officers. Testify in court is where the police officers will tell their story of their investigation. There are many parts to a trial and police officers must understand these stages to do their job as best as they can. Police officers need to understand the ways defense attorneys will attack an officer’s case and the officer. Understanding these tactics can assist an officer present their information to a jury. An additional role a police officer can provide is as an expert witness. This course is designed as an 8 hour class but can be adjusted to 4 hours for conferences.
